The Muskegon River

Watersports & Camping on the Muskegon River

The beautiful Muskegon River is located in the Western portion of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula in the State of Michigan. The headwaters of the Muskegon River are on Houghton Lake in Roscommon County. It flows southwest to the Newaygo County Area and then continues on towards Muskegon Michigan where it empties into Muskegon Lake. Muskegon Lake connects to Lake Michigan by a mile long channel.
